"Booking an appointment by phone"

I have previously used a 01749 telephone booking number as recommended by my doctor for West Mendip Community Hospital with no problem.

When I needed to make another appointment, I was advised that this number was no longer available and that a new 01460 number was to be used in it's place.

Having done this, I was advised that there was a waiting list and if I was more than 4th in line, to hang up and try later. Eventually I got through only to be  told that I was 24th in line.

3 hours later I was able to get through and make the appointment. I'm retired, so apart from the frustration, I was able to wait. But this must be addressed as it is entirely unacceptable as is.
