"12 month follow up appointments"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I went into hospital in March to the Cardiology dept at Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital to have a stent fitted and all did not go according to plan. I was discharged the following Thursday and I actually feel worse now then I did before my admission. I have been given no follow up appointment so contacted my Gp who did some tests and took some bloods and informed me that it was my heart and I needed to see the Cardiologist doctor again. I contacted Dr Snow's secretary to make a follow up appointment and she informed me that the follow up appoints were 12 months inarrears.

I feel very unwell as had to be resuscitated and was told I was not well enough for a heart bypass so needed the stent fitted. I have now been advised to get my Gp to write to the department and ask again for a follow up appointment. What I would like to know is why a follow up appointment has not been issued for me anyway, its seems madness to have to wait 12 months!!!
