"Appalling care"

About: Highbury Hospital

(as a service user),

Patronised and spoken down to by a nurse on the  mental health  triage team who clearly felt I was wasting their time. Informed by an officer the nurse would help me. They did not. Far from it.

Dear Mentally unwell individual

Thank you so much for taking the time to contact us and speaking about your experience when receiving care from the mental health traige team. I am so sorry to hear that this experience was far from positive for you and that you felt patronised and spoken down to by the staff member you were seen by.

We aspire to provide care that is positive, helpful, and provides real solutions for all service users we come into contact with and I am saddened this was not the outcome for you

As operational manager with responsibility for the street triage service I want to assure you we take feedback about service users experience very seriously and take action wherever possible to improve experience going forward.

If you feel able It would be really helpful to have further contact to discuss this experience in order that we can learn as fully as possible form this and take appropriate action as necessary
