"The care and compassion shown was excellent."

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Accident & Emergency Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiology & Coronary Care Unit Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Trauma and Orthopaedics Scottish Ambulance Service

(as a service user),

I was admitted to CCU following a cardiac arrest at a caravan park in Berwick. The paramedics were superb and supported my partner as well as attending to myself. I was taken to Edinburgh royal, ED admitted to CCU   and then transferred to ward 108. The staff in all areas were fantastic from medical staff, nursing staff, domestic staff and hostesses. The care and compassion shown was excellent. Everyone was professional and always had a smile on their face. This was my first experience of being an in patient in hospital and would like to say everyone who attended to me was a credit to the profession and the NHS. I can’t thank you all enough.

Dear Bingojj,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback on CareOpinion. What a terrifying experience! I hope that you are ok and on the road to a full recovery.

I am really pleased to read that the staff that looked after not just you but your partner did so in a manner that we would expect. It sounds like it would have been an exceptionally difficult situation for all and the outcome was as good as we could have hoped.

I would really like to pass this onto the crew and their manager to let them read your kind words. Would you be able to email me at alan.martin2@nhs.net with the details of the job? I would just need your name, the name of the caravan park and the date and rough time the vehicle attended.

I wish you and your partner all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
