"7 weeks and still no biopsy result?"

About: Addenbrooke's Hospital

My mother had a colonoscopy on 8th April and during the procedure a biopsy was also done as there was an "abnormality" that the doctor wanted to investigate.

She was told that she would get the result in 3 weeks.

Nearly 7 weeks have now passed and nothing has been received, despite leaving messages for various secretaries and specialist nurses.

My mother is 76yrs old and worried sick and I am so angry and upset on her behalf.

Her GP has said he doesn't have time to chase and has told Mum to contact PALS which she has done.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the difficulties your mother has had obtaining biopsy results - I am very sorry to hear that she has been so worried and that this has also caused you distress. The PALS team will be pleased to assist your mother.

Once again, I am sorry to hear that communication has not met your expectations.
