"Not fit for purpose"

I had been registered with this GP for over 10 years and have continously had problems getting an appointment or even getting throug on the telephone. I have since left the surgery due to this problem. Because I could not be prescribed my medication without seeing the Doctor, I was left in pain for a week, as everytime I phoned up at 8am (and was on hold for up to 45 minutes one morning), all the appointments had gone. This I did four days in a row before I eventually went to the surgery and begged in the reception for an appointment. The reception staff are sometimes OK, but I am assuming due to the busy nature of the surgery they often look harassed and are often unpleasant. As this is a customer facing role, I would expect at least a forced smile! The reception staff are also intrusive; I understand that they have to be strong to do this role, but they do not need to know all the ins and outs of everything. Some of the doctors here are also dismissive. One doctor even mis-diagnosed my injury and my recovery was slowed due to him not referring me to Physiotherapy even though I asked and it was clearly needed. The only thing I will miss about this surgery is the prescribing nurse. She is amazing and has time for people and a superb manner with patients, I will miss her, but her only. Parking is a nightmare. It's good to have a pharmacy attached to it. I would rate this one of the worst surgeries in Thanet, and would not recommend.
