I visited Princess of Wales Hospital In Bromsgrove on the morning of Wednesday 15th May, I had been in pain with my knee for over a week & was struggling to do my job as I drive a van & I am constantly jumping in & out of it carrying heavy boxes making deliveries. It so happens that it is also my left knee which is always on the clutch. I also drive a forklift truck & work in a Warehouse picking & packing & therefore I am on my feet 8 hours a day. I seldom ever go to the Doctors or Hospital & on this occasion I just wanted a professional medical person to take a look at it & advise me of what to do going forward to alleviate the discomfort & to prevent any more damage as I believed I had probably twisted or jolted it getting in & out of the van or maybe the repetitiveness of using the clutch. My assessment at the Hospital started with the nurse asking me whether I could remember hurting my knee, to which I replied no only to be told by the nurse well if you can't remember hurting it than you haven't hurt it have you, I found this response to be rude with an air of cockiness & arrogance & was made to feel that I was wasting her time. I was checked over quickly and at no stage felt relaxed, I was advised to take anti inflammatory tablets and told that if it's no better a week later to go & see my Doctor. I also told her that I had been wearing a knee support & applying pernaton gel occasionally to get me through my day at work & whether I should carry on doing so to which she replied no. To summarise I was left feeling totally dissatisfied & like I had wasted my time & that of the staff at the Hospital & to top it all I lost a days pay & had a £2.50 car parking charge for the privilege.
