Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I am sorry to hear you feel continuity of care has suffered since our salaried GP took planned retirement.

In the current climate it is difficult to recruit GPs, particularly in a small practice where their individual workload and pressures are greater than in a larger organisation. We are therefore undergoing a period of transition to 'sharing' GPs with another local practice and this has undoubtedly had an effect on continuity.

We have been very lucky, and strived hard, to continue having just 2 regular GPs until the end of last year and to provide the continuity this allowed for patients, and staff, but sadly it is just not possible now to sustain a practice on that basis. We are working hard through this period of transition to ensure we make things as smooth as possible for all concerned, particularly patients who are at the heart of what we do, and although we do now have a larger team of GPs we are trying to ensure they work regular days where possible to ensure as much continuity as we can.

Should you wish to discuss your concerns personally, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Practice Manager
