I have been using Pinehill Hospital for around 40 years, and have always been reasonably satisfied with its standards, and my treatment - until last week. I had a TURP operation on Tuesday(7/19/19), with a follow-up operation the same evening following complications. On the Wednesday evening, though still quite poorly, I was left entirely alone from 6.30pm until 9pm, at which time I called a nurse to sort out my bed. The nurse sat me in a chair, stripped the bed then went away for 20 mins. She came back, looked at my notes and went away again. After a further 15 mins sitting in the chair, I called again and asked for the nurse in charge. She took immediate action and I was back in bed and comfortable in very few minutes. It is entirely unacceptable that I was not looked at for 2.5 hours, nor that nurse 1 treated me so appallingly. Whilst this is my main complaint, there were other factors that fell short of my expectations - on more then one occasion, personal hygiene matters were mooted but not carried out; it was noisy; the waste bin went unemptied throughout my stay; the food was poor; and the room had faulty lighting which, in spite of repeated efforts, went unresolved (having had both cataracts replaced recently, I am very sensitive to bright light, but had no option but to have all 12 main lights on, rather than the 2 above the bed - which were inoperable).
