"Not possible to make an appointment"

About: Fremington Medical Centre

I have been unable to get an appointment to see my GP despite increasing pain which has left me in a situation where I am becoming more housebound and I am frightened I am losing my independence. When I spoke to a receptionist recently I was told that there were appointment slots that had been 'blocked' and no way to access them unless I rang on certain days at 8 am to try and get booked. To try and make another appointment was not possible. My son, who is a senior nurse, was utterly disgusted by this treatment and the way this surgery appears to ignore the needs of its patients to simply make an appointment. I am in my 80's and find it difficult to manage recently because of the pain. I just want to see my GP!!

Hello there, I am so sorry for the delay in responding to your comments, I have only just got into the system to be able to pick up this feedback. I am so sorry that you were having problems accessing our services, I hope the situation has improved. Unless there is an emergency, there are always slots that can be booked with the same day team, up til 6pm. we also now have weekend slots. If you should ever have difficulty accessing services in the future, please do not hesitate to ask to speak to the practice manager or email us d-ccg.Fremington@nhs.net so that we can address your concerns.
