"Clinic delays"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

Referred to the Glaucoma clinic last summer I still have not seen the consultant for test results done at the end of last year.

Can I assume that I would have had an urgent appointment if the tests had been bad results? It looks like to me that we patients have to wait at least a year to be sorted out and see a consultant. Is this reasonable when eyes are at stake?

In a word disgusted possible forgotten and ignored

The 'benefit' of this web page is that we are not identified by name and therefore subject to sanctions by the hospital or clinic. I didn't want to do a major gripe on this site but it may be useful?

Referral July 2018 to triage clinic in Arnold mid September by optician, since any tiny pressure level above 20 must be referred, so she said.

Triage clinic: field test, pressures done. Sent on to QMC, seen late November at QMC, same tests, referred for a day of tests, done late Dec 2018. Clinic follow up was told would be early Feb for results.

Contacted clinic mid Feb 2019 since no letter, told a backlog and could be May or most likely June. No letter yet, assume these are sent out 3 or so weeks in advance of clinics so since it is now mid May this would indicate no clinic appointment until late June / early July to be seen by consultant and get results.

This makes a year's journey.
