"Caring Nurses"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I would like to thank 2 nurses from Ward 4c at Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire. My sister was struggling to pull me in a rickety old hospital wheelchair - I'd had foot surgery and being on 2 crutches was unable to walk. These 2 nurses on way back to ward after their dinner immediately took over and pushed me to main door near to my sister's car. It's so nice to see caring people give up their time to help. We both appreciated it very much. A special thank you to you both. Unfortunately I forgot to ask your names!

Dear Footsy

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad that we were able to be of assistance. It would appear that some of our chairs have a mind of their own and can be difficult to control so glad you got some help.

Ill ensure that the I draw your post to the attention of the staff involved - I am sure they will be delighted with your feedback.

With Best Wishes

Laura

Update posted by Footsy (the patient)

Thanks for contacting your staff involved Laura. I am a person who believes in thanking someone. All too often in life small things people do get overlooked.

Unfortunately I was readmitted on the Wednesday via A&E to ward 2A with an infection in the wound. Thankfully after 6 days of intravenous antibiotic cocktails I was discharged this evening and had help to my sister's car by another nurse from 2A.

Hopefully next visit will be my clinic appointment!
