I was admitted to hospital when my doctor diagnosed me with pneumonia recently. Being my 1st experience of being an in patient I was very worried about how long I would be waiting for a bed and how good my care would be. I can only say all my fears disappeared very quickly when I was wheeled straight to an assessment ward and within a very short time was in a ward and in bed getting the care I needed. All the nursing staff caring for me were lovely and made me feel safe. I have now seen first hand the problems they face as there were dementia patients and drug addicts in my ward which was hard for me to cope with but the nurses caring manner didnt change even though they faced difficult situations with them,
That was my only concern while I was there, I felt these patients should be put onto wards where they would get the kind of special care they need by specially trained nurses..
on the whole my experience as an in patient was a good one and I cant praise the nursing staff enough for the care they showed all patients under their care
"I cant praise the nursing staff enough"
