About: Lanarkshire Community Services WestMARC (Lanarkshire) / Adult Wheelchair Clinic

(as the patient),

I had a leg amputated 18month ago, my wife is disabled, but she has been left to care for me, they did send in a care worker, who filled a basin with warm water, handed me a face cloth, told me to wash my face, and any other private parts. Then they handed me my comb, to do my hair, that was the care package south Lanark shire care services  gave me, Even  fully knowing my wife was disabled, it seems to be when we get to over 70years, they  just sweep us aside..  

I am 78y...my wife is 77yr. we get no help from anybody, The  access ramp to get out via kitchen and conservatory is far too heavy for me to put in place, one seems to be a stainless steel construction, the other one is like a Lego construction, and is the only way I can get out of the house, so if a fire or something happens, I'M  stuck. Also when they are in place we cannot close the doors.   Also my prosthetic  leg is very uncomfortable to wear I have been to West marc  four times complaining about it..

I am sorry to read that you feel that your care package is not adequate for your needs. I am hoping that you local services can support in delivering what you need.

In terms of your care from WestMARC, I would encourage you to contact the team directly so we can review what has been done in order to seek resolution with a view to enhancing your comfort.
