Absolutely delighted with the care my daughter received in the Labour Suite at St John's from the early hours of this morning. A complicated birth that resulted in an emergency section.
The midwifes Fiona and Rachel were superb throughout and my daughter felt safe, reassured and confident in their hands. The Doctor (David) was right on the ball and taking account of her previous birth experience he took control and correctly assessed that she needed to go to theatre where he made the swift decision to perform a C-section. Probably a lifesaving decision as baby was trapped in the birth canal by the umbilical cord. Baby needed and got immediate resuscitation on birth and mum as in previous birth lost a lot of blood. Forward planning and absolute professionalism brought baby safely into the world and mum safely through what was a traumatic experience.
Post-op care from Ruth was also a great experience and I have nothing but praise for this dedicated team, thank you for delivering my grand-daughter safely and for the fantastic care of my daughter.
