"Patient communication:"

About: Dr Jj McPeakes Practice

New patient: Initial contact with Surgery and referral to LGI for an X-Ray was faultless. I had a short wait for an appointment and I was hugely impressed with the efficiency and organisation at LGI. My X-Ray was Friday lunch-time and the results were back Monday morning! I received a text from the Surgery advising that I needed to make an appointment re. the X-Ray results - it was explained that this was a 'telephone appointment' when I rang but the Receptionist was very vague about when this would be. Over three days I failed to communicate that I fully understood that I couldn't be given an exact time BUT AM or PM would help. Like many people I can't always answer my phone at work and I was anxious that I would miss a call and waste the Doctor's time. One Receptionist told me that I could get the results 'within two weeks - meaning there was no urgency! On the fourth day I received a call - the result was given as a statement - I have had to resort to google to find out more. So to summarise initial appointment with Doctor and referral was excellent (5 star) Waiting for result and lack of explanation - extremely poor.
