"Disappointed"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

I was admitted 2nd April with a suspected gallbladder problem ,( even though I made it clear to paramedics that I knew it was my chest)

I have asthma /bronchiectasis/emphasyma,it was soon realised that I had pneumonia while on surgical assessment, where I had brilliant care and was given intravenous antibiotics and medication, after 36 hours, 11pm on 3rd April ,I was well enough to transfer to a medical ward to continue treatment, I was moved into ward 232bed 24 , and I immediately felt the cold air , I said it’s freezing I can’t stay here I was told yes it is,,,, I’ll get you some more blankets and ,it will be sorted in the morning ,IT NEVER WAS SORTED , it was absolutely freezing in that room , even the staff said how cold it was , I asked several times in the Thursday if the heating was going to be sorted out , even a registra said it would be sorted that day ,,,,NOT DONE , Thursday night I slept in my dressing gown , with 4 xtra blankets , but I was still breathing in cold air , Friday morning I complained about the cold and was told the following,,, this used to be the staff room ,,,it had 2 radiators in it then , I asked to be moved ,,,,I was told there are no beds , Friday I rang my daughter to bring me a hot water bottle, both my husband and my daughter were in tears each night they left me on that ward , late Friday night I was so cold even with my hot water bottle extra blankets and my dressing gown on ,I even had my slippers on ,

I got my phone to check the temperature at Stoke and it said 5 degrees ,,,, so god knows what it was in my room ,I was in tears ,,,, and finally I rang for the nurse ,,and said I’m never going to get better if I’m left in this room ,,,,move me now or I’m ringing tge press ,,, 2 young nursing assistants said yes ,,,, I understand ,,,I’m going to move you ,and she did ,,,,she did explain that there was still no heat ,,,,, but thought I’d be better in there ,,,, unbelievableyl ,,,,tge curtains were about 2feet from my face ,,,and they were billowing,,,,, but after a hot cup of tea I did sleep,,,,next morning( Saturday 6th ,,, I was told by a female doctor ,,, that she was sure I was well enough to go home ,THANK GOD , I was discharged later that day , truth be known I should have stayed in hospital,,,and if I hadn’t threatened with the press,,, I probably still would be , never again will I be admitted to STOKE HOSPITAL,
