The waiting process is managed well and it is good that they can estimate wait times so you can come back. My issue was with the manner of the nurse. She didn't listen and was quite rude. I explained how i was diagnosed with pneumonia last year after a lung x-ray to give her the background. On my visit I was struggling with a persistent cough that was waking me up in the night for the last 2 weeks, it was very similar to the same cough i had that eventually escalated to bronchitis and then became pneumonia so I wanted to check that it wasn't going to happen again. The nurse refused to believe I ever had pneumonia (even though i explained I was officially diagnosed by a consultant and was bed bound for most of a month and lost 5kg in a few weeks) then she told me that if i had pneumonia I wouldn't even be able to talk right now. I explained again that I knew it wasn't pneumonia this time, just that I had it previously and was worried about it reoccurring due to having the same type of cough. She continued to be patronising and treated me like a time waster but did eventually completed a chest exam to check my breathing and listen for any crackling in my lungs. I think there should be more respect and not an assumption that someone is lying. A check of NHS record would show her that I definitely wasn't lying.
