I attended Opthalmology dept. at Kidderminster hospital on 12th March 2019. I had a cataract removal procedure.
The nurses gave excellent care and explanation regarding drops and follow up.
The Surgeon said that I would go to the anaesthetist before the surgery.
I expected to have drops in my eye to numb it and was not told about injections. 2 injections were given into my left eye.I found these to be very painful and would have liked to be offered drops or general anaesthetic
I was very satisfied with the operation and thankful to the surgeon for this.
I need a second operation but am hesitant after the pain I experienced having injections in the eye.
Would I be able to have a general anaesthetic for the second cataract removal.?
