"Successful triple by pass for our mum"

About: Harefield Hospital

Our

Mum was referred by her GP to Watford hospital after a suspected heartache and after a few days where she looked fine the diagnosis was worse than we expected and the consultant said she needed a double by pass.. So after great care in Watford , my mum in 2 days was then transferred to Harefield hospital and the team. Whilst a worrying time for all , my mum stayed positive and the team there listened to her and reassured her 24 /7. I never met the bouncy positive consultant surgeon but we have a lot to thank him for. So early on Day 2 my mum had the operation and next time we saw her it was a triple by pass and she was in 1 to 1 care which was amazing. We then saw mum transition through different wards with different care teams and were very impressed with the connectivity. I want to emphasise TEAM as what really came across over the next few days was that mums experience was influenced by the consultant, doctors, nursing teams, food /drink team and cleaners and interaction was really important for what was a terribly shocking week. So this is just to say thanks from my dad, brother and I to all of you for you dedication and hard work, it matters and we believe in you and we should all support our great NHS and keep doing great work.

Soo what to my mum 😃 two weeks on our discharge nurse is visiting and she is doing really well . We look back and it is hard to believe what happened so thanks again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a positive message of thanks – we’ll be sure to pass it onto colleagues. We place a real emphasis on working as one team to provide the highest standard of care, and it’s great to hear we got that right for your mum and her family. We know that coming into hospital is frequently a worrying experience, for patients and their families, so it’s great that our colleagues supported you through this, regardless of their specific role.

We wish your mum all the very best for her continued recovery, and thanks again.
