Thankfully this isn't my surgery but it's a huge worry to me that these people are in charge of my mother's care.
I accompanied my mum on her last two visits to the surgery, the first one was about pain she was in. The doctor didn't know what to do and I had to push for an xray so they could find out for sure what was going on and treat her properly instead of speculating. The second was for the results and the gp seemed ready to send her away with no treatment and again i had to push until he offered to refer her for physio. I also brought up an extremely important concern that my mum had had none of her regular medication for a number of weeks and i wanted to know why they hadn't been prescribed. I asked if she had been taken off them, he huffed and brought up the list then laughed and said she was on LOADS. I was about to ask him to prescribe them and he virtually pushed us out the door with a print out of the medication and a demand that if we wanted to discuss it we would have to make another appointment. It's fine to leave us sitting in the waiting room for 25 minutes past our appointment time but God forbid we should have more than one question to ask. Apparently it's also fine to leave an elderly lady without important medication.
My mum is almost 80 years old, disabled, living alone and recently diagnosed with alzheimer's. I am her only carer, I live a distance away and also have my disabled partner to care for so the time I can give is very limited. She needs her medication. She also needs regular reviews as I am certain some of the medication is wrong for her. My own gp practice would be on top of this and I wish I could move her closer to me to get her some proper care. She still has no medication, some of which is for diabetes. This is so unacceptable and I am furious.
My next step is social services because the "service" provided at shiregreen mc obviously isn't up to standard!
