"Compassion that would knock your socks off"

Attending the confidence course at Ashfield Central Children's Centre has been a benefit to me as usually i would never have thought i would have needed it but it was recommended to me by Angelina (Worker) on another course i was on. I am so happy i attended as since seeing  it was only a small group i didn't think it was going to be any good. However having met with the people who attended i have made some fantastic life long friends and have also got to know Angelina more. Although at first the people on the course were very shy and wouldn't make conversation i am glad i did as this gave me the confidence to get to know everyone more and this was a big thing for me as i have had a lot of ''knock backs''Since attending the course i have found that i can say No a lot more and stop people pleasing. These were some of the topics we spoke about in the course. and these are the things that stood out for me as this means a lot to me. 

The biggest thing to come out of the course for me was seeing Angelina's compassion for situations that would knock your socks off, she managed to deal with them with such care and genuine concern. she had a way of turning your worries and tears into smiles.Angelina did this without looking like a Councillor or even someone that hasn't been in that situation before is very inspiring. i have a lot of admiration for Angelina and it is because of the way she is and will continue to attend any courses that she delivers as she has given me the confidence to believe i can do things for me.

On a whole the Children's Centre has been a great asset to my young daughter who has confidence issues. From the warm welcome as we enter the building (everyone greets us by our name) . If i have been upset during a session the staff will always give me a telephone call later that day to check to see if i am ok and that makes me feel so valued as a person.

My daughters time in the creche has made the world of difference to her confidence and i will be forever grateful to the creche team Liz and Chel for the perseverance and constant reassurance they have given me along with regular updates. My daughter has so much more confidence now thanks to everyone
