"Incorrectly tested stool sample"

About: The Glenfield Surgery

I have been having stomach problems for over a year and the nhs system seems to have lost me.

i went to see a private consultant who suggested i give a stool sample to test for pancreas problems.

This was reported as normal last august 2018.

i then receive a phone call this week to say that the sample has been incorrectly tested and can i provide another - some 7 months later!!

When i went to collect my little pot i am told the lab accidentally damaged some of that days samples so they reported them as normal.

So 7 months later i find this out, not 2 weeks or a month.

unbelievable how can i rely on any results given by this doctor, what if it was something serious?

Why hasn't this tested house been changed and the patients had a written explanation.

Also don't get me started on the ridiculous bollard on the entrance to the car park, which is a nightmare to steer round when not feeling very well. Also why is there no practice manager email address to complain directly?

Thank you for your comment regarding the Glenfield Surgery.

The practice takes all comments seriously and is disappointed to hear the experience you received fell short of what you expected.

Unfortunately the surgery is unable to respond to parts of your review without knowing the patient details.

The bollard at the front of the surgery was installed to make the access and exit of the practice more efficient and safe.

Regarding your latter comment the surgery has a complaints Policy to which we ask patients to contact the Patient Services Manager, either in writing, face to face or by telephone, enabling the complaint to be dealt with efficiently and in a timely matter.

If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Services Manager on 0116 2333600.
