"Visit to A&E department"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital / Accident and emergency

I visited the A&E department this morning after a accident and have to say how wonderful the doctor and staff were to me. I was given morphine for the pain and everyone was cheerful and pleasant. Well done.

Dear Pamela,

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such positive feedback following your recent attendance in the Emergency Department at Eastbourne District General Hospital; we really do appreciate it. First of all, we very much hope you are no longer in pain and have recovered, or are making good progress, from the symptoms you presented with.

The Trust works hard to provide all patients with a high standard of care, and we are delighted to read this was your experience, with staff upholding our values in treatment of kindness, compassion, dignity and respect. Given you must have been in terrible pain to need morphine, it was no doubt a great comfort to you to find staff helpful and upbeat; particularly in light of the fact our Emergency Departments are often very busy, with high numbers of patients presenting for urgent care.

We will ensure your kind words are shared with staff so that they are aware of how much you valued and care and kindness shown to you; we also wish you good health for the future.
