"A & E Dept"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

Father suffering from Dementia admitted by ambulance to the new A&E due to serious fall to head. As his son I was very impressed with the care and kindness in checking Dad, full physical, CT Scan, X Ray & blood tests. Staff and medical facilities were excellent.

Concerns-

1. I arrived separately & had to cue behind people who wanted to be assessed for emergency treatment. Good idea for a specific desk to receive family as it was very anxious having to wait. When I did get to reception staff I was immediately taken thro which was nice.

2. No coffee/food vending machines available for relatives and I didn’t want to leave my father for long as he gets distressed due to dementia & we were there 6 hrs
