"Foot pain -2 missing referrals"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Orthotics

(as the patient),

I attended my GP who referred me to an Orthotist.

They agreed to arrange a scan for my foot, I waited 8 weeks and heard nothing so chased this up before my agreed follow up appt: this was surprisingly booked the same day but in the a.m. at a different hospital of my follow up appt.

From my follow up appt I was internally referred to Orthotics, again 8 weeks later I still hadn't heard anything and called to chase this up. To my surprise the referral was never made and the person I spoke to had to email the worker to make an Urgent referral.

This is twice I have been advised by Orthotist that something was done but hadn't been, poor service provided.

Dear Maddock

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch, I am so sorry to hear of the difficulties you have been having with your appointments for the Orthotic Service. This is not the standard we would expect and it would be helpful if you could contact Eileen Walker on 0141 301 9803 with further details so that we can look into this for you.

Kind Regards

Nicole
