"The doctor spent exactly 3 minutes at my bed"

About: King George Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I begged to be admitted as I had been feeling extremely poorly and was continually coughing up nasty phegm.   Firstly the doctor who examined me said there was nothing they could do, then another doctor butchered my arm trying to force a canulla into an extremely small vein instead of the very prominent ones on my hand (which is where I would normally expect to have a canulla inserted).

I was admitted to a ward where people were defecating constantly (the smell was overpowering), the food was inedible and I was even asked if I wanted something from the canteen downstairs (provided I paid for it! ).   The next day a porter slammed a bottle on the table in front of me and shouted "drink that" - apparently I was to have a CT scan, but I was never told that.   I had still not eaten by this time and asked for some bread and butter - the bread was stale and the butter was rancid!

The next day a doctor came to my bedside and proceeded to intimate that I had cancer.   I had nobody with me, and was never asked if there was anyone I wanted present.   The doctor spent exactly 3 minutes at my bed and told me I would be discharged shortly.   They then walked over to a lady in the opposite bed and spent more than 25 minutes with her.   The nurses seemed incompetent, they shouted at each other and at patients.   All in all I will never never ever let myself be admitted for anything there ever.
