"Needed more information"

On my first visit to the eye clinic, I had no idea anything was wrong so I did get a shock when the consultant said I had glaucoma. My first thought was "I am going blind" The consultant realised I was shocked so reassured me if I did the treatment, I should be okay. That was towards the end of my appointment. I did need more reassurance though. It came in the booklet called "Glaucoma-a guide" by IGA - International Glaucoma Association which I found at GWH and this was a year after my diagnosis. It would have helped me enormously if I had been given the booklet at my first meeting.
