"My first experience of hospital admission"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery Crosshouse Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was admitted for day surgery for a hysteroscopy and biopsies. This was my first time in hospital and I was very nervous. Everyone who worked there were very helpful and treated me with care and respect and at all times respected my dignity. The consultant, anethetist and nursing staff all explained the process in a manner I was able to understand and were able to put me at ease.

I would also like to mention that I felt very reassured and relaxed during my pre op assessment the previous week. The staff there do an excellent job too.

In conclusion, my first experience of hospital admission was much less of an ordeal than I had anticipated, and I put this down to the quality of care delivered by staff.
