I had the misfortune of having a heart attack at home in the early hours in January. The quality of service I received was nothing short of fantastic.
From an ambulance arriving within 5 minutes of a 999 call, staffed with paramedics who were not only skilled at looking after me but also the calm and comforting way they looked after and reassured my partner. Having arrived at hospital is was less than an hour and I was in a Cath lab having an angiogram and stent, not being worried as the staff were talking to me and explaining what was happening and why, just as well as I was back having a second stent some 5 hours later !
The nursing staff are the most caring and dedicated people I have ever met and work in trying conditions at times and yet the level of professionalism never dropped.
I will have to have a third stent in time and due to the treatment I received have no worries or anxiety about this at all.
I would like to thank all the staff who looked after me and effectively saved my life.
