"Understanding my Mother and Alzheimers"

About: Forth Valley Community Services

(as a relative),

My mother is in a Care Home.  We never wanted that for mum.

My mother’s Community Psychiatric Nurse arranged a meeting with me when she was due to be on annual leave.  I didn’t know until our meeting that she was supposed to be on a day off.

So much of what we talked about at that meeting made sense. It has always been the unknown with Alzheimers that has been troubling. Hilary listened and helped me understand the illness more, although there is still a lot to try to understand.

She helped me understand how we might possibly make things better for mum.

The whole point of this email is to thank Hilary from the bottom of my heart for her time and understanding

Dear Great,

Thank you for the lovely feedback for our Care Home Liaison Nurse Hilary. We have recently expanded the Care Home Liaison Service to cover all the Nursing Homes in Forth Valley. I appreciate the positive feedback which I will pass on to Hilary and her team leader for getting it right. We will continue to invest and work with families and Care Homes to support Persons with Dementia.

kind regards

Dr. Vivek Pattan.

Clinical Director- Dept. of Psychiatry of Old Age.
