"Macular Clinic"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

After being referred by my optician I visited the eye clinic at Ayr Hospital where I was advised by a consultant that a course of injections to my eye was recommended. I decided against the treatment as I was genuinely afraid at the thought of injections to my eye. It was a year before I was referred again and this time I decided to proceed with a course of injections.

At the appointment for the first of these every member of the nursing team was patient, caring and professional, answering all my questions and concerns and I am so pleased to commend these very special people. The whole procedure was a positive experience and I have no fear about further treatment. Everything was explained in minute detail and the after-care I received was excellent. My thanks to everyone.

Dear born to sing,

I am delighted that you have had such a good outcome whilst attending for your injections. The staff in ophthalmology strive very hard to acheive this for all our patients and I am sure it will be a very postive note for them to hear.

Thanks again for getting in touch and I will make sure this gets to the team.

Dear born to sing

Thank you so much for such lovely feedback of your experience within our Ophthalmology Service.

I understand why you would have been apprehensive, I certainly would have been too!

As you know our Ophthalmology Clinics are extremely busy therefore I am pleased to hear that our teams were able to put you at ease and ensure that procedures were explained to you - this is so important.

I will share your feedback with the team involved as this is important when reviewing our services and it will be a real boost to their day.

Kind regards

John
