(as a service user),

I recently attended the endoscopy department at Sunderland Royal Hospital to have a colonoscopy. I just wanted to pass on my thanks to the staff who looked after me. The care I received was outstanding and they really did their best to reassure me and put me at ease during a procedure which is a little bit unpleasant.   I also wanted to mention the department has been rebuilt since I attended a few years ago. The new unit is fantastic, each patient had their own room with an ensuite, couldn't fault it. Well done to all the staff and keep up the fantastic work.

Thanks for your feedback. The new department is a huge improvement and it is great to what our patients think of it. I am delighted to hear that you felt you received outstanding care. Having a procedure can be stressful so the team will do all they can to try and make sure you are comfortable and at ease.
