"Mums care"

About: Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical) Victoria Hospital / Medical High Dependency Victoria Hospital / Neurology Victoria Hospital / Stroke

(as a relative),

My mum was brought into hospital and was very unwell.  She spent time in AU1 and MHDU where the care was excellent.

Mum was then moved to ward 42 where she stayed a few weeks.  Her care was excellent in the ward.  The staff were very professional, caring and compassionate.  Time was taken with  Mum to encourage and cajole her to eat and drink despite the busy ward environment.

Mum in particular mentioned Dr Muir (think that was his name), Nursing Assistants Margaret and Angie who were kind and friendly, and Nurses Rommel, Brian and Hilda who provided high quality nursing care.

Please pass on my thanks to the staff in the ward for their excellent care of mum during what was a very worrying time for the family, it is very much appreciated.

Dear SyKdy,

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know that the care your mum received when she was brought into hospital was excellent. It's really important and reassuring to hear that the staff were very professional, caring and compassionate. It can have a very motivational effect to be able to give such positive feedback to the staff. There has been a lot of focus on food, fluids and nutritional care within ward 42 and it nice to hear that this must be paying off when valuable time was taken with your Mum to encourage and cajole her to eat and drink despite the busy ward environment. Many Thanks for mentioning the people who have stood out to your mum for their kindness, friendliness and high quality nursing care. I will be very pleased to pass on your thanks to the staff in the ward, I know they will be glad they have been able to provide you and your mum with much reassurance and quality care.

Best wishes to you and your mum

Esther
