"Recent knee operation at Louth fotherby ward"

About: County Hospital Louth / General surgery County Hospital Louth / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I recently had a knee operation on Fotherby ward in Louth in February, there were two nurses that worked in my bay with the ladies , one was named I think Suzie and another lady I recognise from working on Branston ward on a previous operation.

Both were fantastic and so informative, nothing was to much trouble, even making me toast and tea after recovery, making sure I had the right jam and the correct amount of sugar.

To monitoring me as my blood pressure was low. There care was compassionate and you can’t teach that.

The only down side to the whole experience was that I was on a theatre bed (black hard mattress) not a comfy bed with a mattress etc

The ward was superbly clean and the anaesthetist  was helpful and caring - coming back regularly at least three times to check on all of the patients and speak to us all personally !

Really good experience thank you

Dear kw1990

Thank you for your feedback, it is great to hear that your experience on Fotherby was a positive one (apart from the mattress!).

They are a great team here at Louth and we pride ourselves on our individual patient care, thank you for feeding this back to us as it is always nice to hear that we are getting it right.

Kind regards

Denise
