"At least this practice tries!"

I have read a couple of anonymous quite negative reviews and I wish to redress the balance. No GP practice is perfect given the pressures and demands. It would be very silly to form an opinion about this surgery based upon 5 reviews and more so given the last two contributions.

I have found the wait upon the telephone occasionally frustrating, but I do not have to wait 30 minutes like some of my friends. the maximum was five minutes. The receptionists appear very helpful and friendly and what I find useful is the fact that they make suggestions of how to resolve your needs if access is not of your preference. The practice nurse is a gem, I like her professional but warm manner. The GP is very caring but clearly busy. However I have found that he always gives you the time that you need if you have a difficult problem. He always gives an honest and frank opinion and the final decision is always mine after having shared a joint discussion. I have found this practice to provide a friendly welcome without having to wait a long time for appointments or the phone to be answered.

The benefit of a small practice is the continuity and knowledge of my particular medical history. My friends are often upset because in their practices they never see the same Doctor twice. Also my friends always are rushed out with a script they didn’t really want when an explanation would have sufficed.

Compared to some stories told by my friends, this practice is very good, so be careful what you wish for.
