"My wife's experience"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Orthopaedics (Wards 10a, 10b, 10c &10d) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Physiotherapy Royal Alexandra Hospital / Gastroenterology Royal Alexandra Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 21-23)

(as a relative),

I don't know were to start but I'll give it a go.

My wife has had the worst experience of her 62 years life in the last 2 years in the hands of the NHS.

In December 2017 she started having problems with her left knee and began a process which has still not been resolved with Doctors, Hospitals and Physiotherapist. Physiotherapists contradicting each other giving her different exercises for her knee which did not help.

I had someone from a Physiotherapy department call us saying they would help us resolve the problem in November 2018, still waiting to this day for the help.

The recent problem I have with the NHS is there total incompetence the way they have dealt with my wife over the trouble she has had with her stomach since September 2018.

Since the beginning of January this year 2019 she has been in Hospital 6 times, 5 times by Ambulance with severe pains in her stomach. She was constantly discharged by the hospital saying they couldn't find anything and would need to carry out tests to find out what was causing the pains.

Test after test nothing could be found until February when again after a 999 call was made to rush her in to hospital again with severe pains.

She has been discharged again yesterday after waiting 7hours for her prescription which wasn't ready, absolute disgrace.

My wife also suffers from MS which has caused her deep distress.Hopefully this has given you some insight to the anger me and my wife have with the NHS.

Dear Wighty

Thank you for contacting me with your wife’s details. I hope you and your wife found it reassuring to speak to myself and my colleagues.

I am glad that you were able to resolve the issues you had with physiotherapy. I can confirm that you wife has appointments for orthopaedics and a scan.

Please pass on my best wishes to your wife.

Kind Regards

Linda
