According to their website they offer same day access 8.30 am -4pm every day.

I have used this service for a couple of times in the past and I have to admit I was very pleased with the service. A year ago I went there without an appointment and I saw a doctor within less than 1 hr !

Today I visited them a bit after 3pm and I was told that I couldn't see anyone.

The lady at the reception (not that friendly as the previous ones) told me that they dont do this anymore - not sure if this is the case or she was just unhelpful.

Note that I told them I had an acute condition. They didnt care.

I left and I went to register to another GP.

We are sorry to hear that you felt the need to register elsewhere over this, having previously had good service.

We have a explanation of the same day service on our website (https://www.brownlowhealth.co.uk/appointments-2/appointments-quick-guide/), and we will now make sure that this is linked to on the appointment times page that you have referred to.

An important thing to note is that it is not a 'walk in' service as such, but a provision of same day appointments to compliment the provision of book-ahead appointments.

Most on-the-day requests can be met, but as explained in the link above, there sometimes comes a point in the day when we have to close the list.

In those circumstances, the receptionist will usually ask the duty doctor to assess the need if they are concerned that the problem cannot wait until the next day.
