I am a 62 year old who attended the treatment centre on Sunday afternoon 13 January, on arriving was informed by the receptionist who was polite and very sympathetic that there was a 3 to 4 hour wait as they were short staffed, but feeling so poorly and needing to see someone i had to stay although the prospect was a bit daunting. I completed the form to say why i was attending and stated my symptoms which also included chest pains, i then went in to be assessed and the person i saw was arrogant and rude and after reading my symptoms and taking my temperature and saying it was very high went on to tell me that it was probably flu as he had seen a few people that day with it, they would listen to my chest but you wont get any medication for it, he made me feel as if i was a time waster, me and my daughter could not believe his attitude i came out judging whether to stay or not although i was feeling so ill, but thank goodness i did. After 4 hours my daughter asked how much longer it would be as i was feeling much worse and was told that my notes were being looked at so i should be the next one, i was then seen by a lovely practitioner who said i had a chest infection and pleurisy and was given medication for it thank goodness i stayed. So much for just having the FLU !! I strongly feel that assumptions should not be made by someone who is not obviously qualified to do so.
