"Urgent Care then A&E"

About: Charing Cross Hospital

I visited the urgent care centre tonight at Charing Cross after being referred by 111 NHS.

I had a piece of food lodged in my throat - I got there at 10.30pm and was home by 12.30.

On a Friday night I was seen in triage, then a nurse practitioner, then A&E triage, and the on call ear, nose and throat Dr in under 2 hours.

I was thoroughly impressed from start to finish - they looked after me, were friendly and non judgemental and I had braced myself to be there a lot longer.

As a women in her mid 30s who was there on her own I was worried I wouldn’t feel safe being there but I totally did even though there were a couple of drunks who were trying to talk to me at various points.

I can’t thank them enough for how approachable they were and how lovely they were.

So pleased and so thankful - superb service.
