"Terrible service"

About: Gravesend Medical Centre

(as a service user),

An absolute joke. I leave for work at 7am and get back at 6pm but, even when they are open for appointments, they won't let me walk in there and pick up my paper prescription because they're "only open for appointments". I can get it sent to a pharmacy but they won't go into the computer and send it for several days because they're "only open for appointments".

Apparently, I should have foreseen the terrible service for people who work and already had it automatically sent to a pharmacy each month - except I used to do that and I stopped it because they never sent it on time and I was always running out of my medication! So their very helpful solution to this is for me to have to wait until I can actually get to the pharmacy to pick it up.

Receptionist told me I should have already planned for this situation, except how would I know what would happen and how useless they would be until the situation arose? Until now I was working in town and could get to them earlier so had never found out just how they would be in this situation until it happened!

Receptionist didn't even show the slightest empathy; like many of the others I have encountered in my time there - they were just blunt and couldn't seem to care less. I have actually been ignored at reception whilst a receptionist was stirring tea.

Dear patient of Gravesend Medical Centre, I am very sorry that you feel the service you received recently was not satisfactory; I understand that the Practice Manager responded to you previously and gave you the option of contacting her to discuss your concerns, this offer still stands and you are more than welcome to call the surgery to speak to her or myself direct.
