"Impacted Wisdom Tooth Removal"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

Two years ago I had an impacted Wisdom tooth removed at Eastbourne General District Hospital. I was so terrified but the nurses really helped me through the procedure and the dentist himself was very good indeed. The wound healed well and it really boyed my ability to cope with dentistry appointments.

I now need the other lower impacted tooth out and have been referred this time to Uckfield Community Hospital which I've had bad experiences at. I'm now really anxious as I was very happy at Eastbourne and don't want to go to Uckfield. I'm not sure how to deal with this and can't find another line of communication with which to ask this question. Is there a way to transfer back to Eastbourne do you know?

You're hopefully.

Helen

Dear Helen,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us about your forthcoming dental procedure at Uckfield Community Hospital, and for the lovely feedback you provided about the procedure you underwent at Eastbourne District General Hospital in 2017. We very much appreciate your kind words.

In terms of your request that the procedure be transferred to Eastbourne District General Hospital, we would suggest that you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to discuss this further. Please ensure you have your hospital number to hand (this will be in your appointment letter, and starts with the letter X) when you contact PALS, as this will help them to locate your records and determine how best to be of assistance.

PALS can be contacted on 01323 435886 or if you would prefer to email them, then you can reach the team at esh-tr.palse@nhs.net where staff will be very happy to help you. We hope this information helps, and that you receive the outcome you are hoping for. We also wish you all the very best for your dental procedure, wherever you end up attending, and that you make a good and comfortable recovery.
