I was admitted to hospital on the Monday and taken to maternity ward. I was cared for well over my 2 night stay. Upon discharge I was asked to return if my pains persisted.
On the Thursday I returned around midday due to pains and tightenings. Cared for well in SBU triage and then moved on to maternity. No wristband was given but I was administered my antibiotic. Pains and tightenings eased off and I asked to see a doctor. I was waiting 5 hours (!) And was beginning to feel stressed and pushed aside. I hadn't even had my obs done, I was ignored. I told multiple staff I'd rather be at home and stress free as my pains had subsided and I was told I wasn't in labour. They all said they would get a midwife and I didn't see one until 6.30pm. I was then told doctors were reviewing my notes and shortly after, I saw one. I explained to her I'd rather be at home and she accepted, allowing me to self discharge.
It was nearly 7pm before I left, and I feel I have not been properly cared for, I feel I was forgotten about and pushed aside. The only staff that cared was the kitchen staff (!)
I would NOT recommend KMH and I will be contacting another hospital to book in and have my baby at.
