"Early Pregnancy Unit (Woodlands) disgraceful..."

About: Lister Hospital

Rang up 30 minutes before arriving for a scan as I was worried about a suspected miscarriage and suffering from severe hypermemesis on 04/02/2019.

We arrived at reception to be greeted by the most cold hearted, rude and unprofessional receptionist. She accused me and my partner of lying about calling because "she don't remember speaking to us" and tried to get out of the hospital by saying "well we don't offer scans past 5pm so...." even though the person we spoke to told us to come immediately for a scan. We know it wasn't her that we spoke to as the lady on the phone was really nice.

As I explained my issues she rudely interrupted me and asked me to start again as "she's confused". Not really sure what part of potential miscarriage she misunderstood.

This woman was practically shouting at me, I had clearly inconvenienced her and she was not interested in my welfare. I am shocked that such a horrible individual is allowed to work for a company sch as the NHS in a maternity unit where the patients are vulnerable. My partner and I are absolutely shocked and disgusted at the way we were treated. Patients should NOT return home in tears because of the receptionist....

There is another review on here about the same person. Lister, you need to sort this out asap and address the employee in question!

Thank you for getting in touch and sharing your experience with us. We're sorry to hear about what happened when you spoke with the receptionist, during what must have been a difficult time for you. We would like to find out more about what happened and if you're happy to share more information with us, then do get in touch with our patient advice and liaison service (PALS). Their contact details are 01438 285811 or pals.enh-tr@nhs.net. We will be sharing your review with our senior team in maternity so that they are aware.
