"Reception staff are rude, aggressive and above..."

About: Salters Meadow Health Ctr

This surgery used to be excellent, with appointments available at short notice and even call backs from GP's to save everyone time. The last 12 months has seen it slip into chaos and it is such a shame, I used to reccommend this surgery to all my friends and family. The Doctors are still good if and when you get to see them, but it starts with the reception staff who are rude, aggressive, ask too many personal questions and even suggest treatments when they have no medical training (in this instance bathing a skin infection with warm water - it actually needed penicillin, after finally being able to see a GP).

There are no appointments until a week after you first become ill. I phoned last week , in an emergency and the phones were switched off, which is how bad it is getting. Its a joke and I've had enough and will be finding a new surgery asap.

We have experienced many significant changes within the practice over the last 12 months and all of the staff, clinicians and administrators are working very hard trying to manage this.

The receptionists are instructed by the GP’s to ask some questions when booking appointments to try to manage the demand for slots. If you would like to contact the practice manager and let her know who gave you the suggested treatment we can address that issue for you.

I believe the day you are referring to when the telephones were switched off was Tuesday 20th June. This is the CCG’s incentive for protected learning time for all clinicians in the area, which gives them all a chance to keep abreast of current changes within medicine and the NHS. When you tried to contact the surgery you will have been advised that you were being re-directed to our out of hours provider if you deemed it a medical emergency.

We will forward you medical records promptly when requested from you new GP.
