"Exceptional care"

About: St Vincents

(as a service user),

My aunt had been ignored by agencies since a safeguarding in August 2018. She was distressed, confused and falling into depression.

Her GP sent in nurses to conduct blood tests and contacted social services with no response.

Social services refused to communicate with me and ignored my request for help.

Mary of the Memory Team was called in by the GP.

Mary saw my aunt’s distress and difficulties. She spoke with me. She called a Safeguarding immediately.

With Mary’s intervention, the social services has finally intervened, seven months after the first Safeguarding. Without Mary’s intervention, my aunt would not be receiving appropriate care and support.
