The care provided to me by the cardiology department was beyond anything I could imagine.
I was admitted to ward 10 for what was thought would be routine day surgery.
My condition was more serious than thought and I was kept in hospital and underwent a triple bypass 4 days later after being transferred to ward 11.
At all times I was treated with kindness, warmth and respect and kept informed of the steps in the process.
The care from the nursing staff was amazing from start to finish including in the high dependency unit for a day after surgery.
There were so many people involved in my care.
It was a humbling experience and I will always be grateful for the professionalism and expertise of the staff.
Following surgery, I continue to receive excellent follow up care from the cardiac rehabilitation team.
