The Deeping Surgery have refused to administer my Intra-muscular Depo-Medrone 120mg injection which I require every 3 months as part of my on-going treatment plan with the Rheumatology Department at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. I had been agreed initially that these injections would alternate. However, after the retirement of the Dr who had been administering the injections at the Deeping Practice, I was suddenly told that the surgery was not funded to do these injections. None of the doctors or nurses, it seemed, were capable of carrying them out. I was seen by my doctor who thought because I was shaking & not very lucid I should have a brain scan & then seen by the Older Person’s Team to see if I had dementia! After begging with Rheumatology to fit me in at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. By this time the 70+ mile round trip was excrutiating but at least I had my injection. The dementia team could find nothing wrong & agreed that my symptoms were the result of my treatment withdrawal. My Rheumatologist told me at my latest appointment on 15/1/19 that he had asked the surgery again to carry out these injections & was at a loss to understand why this was the only surgery that refused.
