"Infections due to having brain surgery"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Infectious Diseases

(as the patient),

Having been given IV antibiotics for a brain abscess I suffered 2 readmissions due to infection and reaction to drugs.

I have been treated for the reaction and infections at OPAT and ward 111.

I was admitted both times quickly and efficiently.

I can’t thank all the staff enough for their care.

I was very emotional due to the journey I had been on and still on but all the staff were fantastic and very caring.

Dear Lornski

Many thanks for sharing your experiences when admitted to ward 111 and also when you have required the services of the OPAT team.

It sounds that you have had a very difficult time recently due to infections and reactions but so glad to hear that you were admitted quickly and efficiently and that the staff that you have met throughout this period have been caring and met all your care needs.

I hope that the treatment that you have received has been effective and that you are now feeling much better.

With best wishes

Fiona Robertson

Chief Nurse
