"Oustanding care and compassion"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU) University Hospital Ayr / Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

My mother in law was admitted to CAU on Christmas Day and transferred to Station 8 on 27th December. The care she received in both areas was fantastic with special mention for Lorraine (staff nurse in station 8) who put all the family at ease and answered all our questions.

She was moved to medical high care where she sadly passed away. Again the care and compassion we received as a family here was outstanding. We are very grateful to all the  staff who are true credit to our NHS.

Dear Lollyscot

Firstly please accept my condolences on the death of your mother-in-law. I can only imagine the difficult time you and your family have been through.

Under your circumstances I am really appreciative that you have taken time to feedback your experience to us, this will really mean a lot to the staff.

Messages such as yours are a reminder of how hard staff do work to ensure that both patients and relatives are cared for at times of anxiety and distress. I am extremely proud of all staff within UHA as I know committed they are to our patients.

I will ensure that all the teams are made aware of your comments, I know how important it is for them to receive such positive feedback.

Once again, thank you so much.

Kind regards

John
